Sestinas would work better with a friend writing them
Nature's Terror Suspects
Death comes on the downy wings of geese-
The cursory postmortem performed by ferns-
Supple fronds seeking a nugget of knowledge gold-
An idea whispered by leafy tongues-
So the mole, worm, and root share secrets below ground-
And I feel my third eye begin to open-
The mystery of downy winged death, a wound still open-
How was it that these geese-
Had bound a man to the ground-
And how invasive were these ferns-
Proclaiming innocence for the flock with non-native tongues-
Man suspects such a prognosis has been paid in gold-
For in the minds of men all solutions are gold-
Even those wrought of platinum or uranium out in the open-
Rings or bombs all rolling off laconic human tongues-
Now look at these frozen geese-
Frozen black against the water's edge ferns-
Feeling yet another way to go to ground-
Things still connected to nature share a common ground-
The fox, the owl, the beaver care not for gold-
Nor do those sage and sacred ferns-
Yet man does not always leave his window open-
And so would not guess at an assassination by geese-
Nor to be probed by leafy fingers and tongues-
Nature sent forth missionaries speaking in tongues-
They tried to bring all to that common ground-
But if all else failed they had the geese-
Man and magpie care for gems and gold-
They refuse to keep their minds open-
But the rest of nature yeilds to those leafy fronded ferns-
So wise and learned are those ferns-
They whisper in all tongues-
They can help other minds to open-
Like fronds above the ground-
They've no love for the dead man's gold-
They find guilt with humanity, not geese-
Now my third eye is open, and I hear the whispering ferns-
Great suicide geese tell me secrets in tongues-
A single one can bring to ground a jet with no concern for the humans' gold.

That's how I always feel about sestinas :)
@NoGraySunflowers - Hahaha. Can you explain to me why I am even doing them then? I've got other poems set for Agreus for the month, why am I doing these? I must be a masochist on some level.
@Agreus - The sestina is like a one night stand. It always seems like a good idea at the time, and if you're lucky, you'll end up with a good story and no lingering diseases ;)
This will clearly teach you to have three accounts fully loaded for an entire month. Does Immane know you came down with a case of the sestinas? Heh.
These two lines make everything worth it:
Yet man does not always leave his window open-
And so would not guess at an assassination by geese-
Gah. I love them. The rest is good too ; )
@NoGraySunflowers - HAhahahahahaha. Oooooo. I like the lady's humor today.
@MooncatBlue - Well at least there was some small merit to it in your perception.
@MooncatBlue - Immane is fighting back over getting stuck with the Edgebreak challenge.
@Agreus - there is all sorts of merit to be found, really. do you want to pick tomorrow's words or shall i? heh.
@Agreus - And now someone on here should write a sestina about writing a sestina that personifies a sestina. We'll call it the "Meta-Sestina"
not sure why your bright beauties here didn't rec. this interesting one. loved the images, not to mention tongue in cheek.
@belskaylar - They didn't rec because they weren't moved too.
@MooncatBlue - I'll pick for tomorrow.
@Agreus - I will delight in the anticipation, my friend. Or quake. Have you been reading teh maths again?
